Life in Tucson

Living in Tucson gives students access to a wide variety of outdoor activities.  With 284 partly to mostly sunny days, an annual average in-town temperature of 70.9 degrees, and several nearby mountain ranges (we call them Sky Islands) that reach over 9000 feet, enjoying the outdoors is a year-round activity.  Tucson hosts terrain that ranges from flat desert to rugged mountains, and flora ranging from cacti to pine forests and subalpine meadows.   Our students enjoy camping, hiking, running, cycling, rock climbing, canyoneering and skiing.

In town, Tucson is home to some of the best cuisine in the US - in fact, we were recently designated the first UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy in the US!  With much more than just amazing Mexican food, the area is also home to a growing list of breweries, vineyards and distilleries.
